The Association of Regional Center Agencies (ARCA) represents twenty-one (21) regional centers in California that provide services to more than 145,000 Californians with developmental disabilities.

 

Autism Spectrum Disorders - This link takes you directly to the Best Practice Guidelines for Screening, Diagnosis and Assessment. The Guidelines provide professionals, policymakers, parents and other stakeholders with detailed "best practice" recommendations and rationale for screening, evaluating and assessing individuals suspcted of having autistic spectrum disorders.

Department of Health Services (DHS) - The mission of the California Department of Health Services (DHS) is to protect and improve the
health of all Californians. Here you can learn about health warnings, health resources, and other health-related sites.

 

The Department of Social Services: You can access Title 22, California Code of Regulations and obtain current information regarding Community Care Licensing.

 

Development Disabilities Digest - This site was developed to assist primary care physicians in caring for persons with developmental disabilities. Here you may gain access to an index of documents related to developmental disability health issues ranging from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity to XYY Syndrome.

 

Developmental Disabilities Resources For Healthcare Provides - This site is a collaboration of California-based information and programs on devlopmental disabilities. It is funded by the California Department of Developmental Services and coordinated by the Center for Health Improvement (CHI), a prevention-focused health policy center. The website is designed to assist physicians and other healthcare providers in caring for persons with developmental disabilities. It is also designed to support consumers with developmental disabilities and their families in making informed health care decisions. The information in this site includes medical care information for specific syndromes and related issues, health provider educational opportunities, speaking opportunities, publications, and links to selected websites.

 

Guidelines for Community Care Facility Licensees Using Employment Agencies

 

HealthCare Providers Service Organization offers medical malpractice/professional liability insurance and risk management information for physical therapists, pharmacists, EMT's, dental hygienists, athletic trainers, medical assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners and many other healthcare professionals.*

 

Los Angeles County Community & Senior Services - This is a valuable resource to vendors as well as families and Westside Regional Center Clients who are interested in learning more about Adult Protective Services(APS), Domestic Violence Reporting and Victim Support, and Area Agency on Aging which is responsible for identifying unmet needs of older adults and functionally-impaired adults. There mission is to "assist residents in obtaining self-sufficiency, strengthen and promote the independence of older persons, provide employment and training for unemployed adults, displaced workers, seniors and young people, and protect and assist adult victims of abuse.

 

Los Angeles County Department of Childen & Family Services - This link takes you directly to the Child Abuse Hot Line & Emergency Response Command Post information page of the L.A. County Department of Children & Family Services web-site. From there you can proceed to other valuable resources that deal with children and family issues.
