The group is co-led by Fran Goldfarb, Healther Martillo and Karen Williams, all parents of children with psychiatric disabilities. There is no charge for the group and no reservations are needed. This workshop is designed to empower parents, siblings and other family members of children and adults with developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injury, and severe learning disabilities to become effective advocates and to offer the tools and support to ensure peace of mind by providing the promise of future safety and security. A panel of experts will discuss a variety of topics. Fee is $45.00 per individual or $60.00 per couple. Fee includes all materials, lunch and snacks.

This is the California law that says that people with developmental disabilities, and their families, have a right to get the services and support that they need to live like people who don’t have disabilities. Join two top self-advocates, Linda Butler and Kecia Weller, as they present this informative training. You will learn what the “Lanterman Act” is, where it came from and what it means to YOU.
