Behaviors: Harm to Self/Harm to Others

1:00-3:00 p.m.
This training is appropriate for all families, service providers, and direct care staff. We all have behaviors, yet only some are difficult. When faced with a “difficult behavior,” good judgment is needed to know what to do, how to do it, and what would be best for the client. Special care is needed when someone is harming him/herself or harming others, and quick and rational thinking is key. Come to this training and learn how to spot factors that may lead to difficult behaviors, learn how to understand the behavior, intervene appropriately, and how to possibly avoid the situation in the future. Also, learn how to keep yourself calm, rational and understanding while still being proactive. Not all difficult behaviors are the same from one person to the next, so please come and ask questions so that you may benefit from this training. Stephanie Young, MFT will present this interactive training. Stephanie is the Director of Crisis Support Services, and she has many years of experience working with persons with developmental disabilities. Please call to reserve your space.
