The California Budget – How Does It Affect The Regional Center

Now that the California state budget and related trailer bills have been signed by the governor, Westside must begin implementing the provisions that affect payments to our vendors for their services to our clients. Effective July 1, 2010, the 2010-11 Budget Act (Senate Bill 853, Chapter 717, Statutes of 2010), requires that a 4.25% reduction be applied to purchase of services expenditures. Since February 1, 2009, Westside has been required to reduce payments for services by 3% and with the latest Trailer Bills; Westside must reduce payments by an additional 1.25%. So our payments for services, effective July 1, 2010, will have to be reduced by the additional 1.25%.
