7-30-2009
The Governor has signed the Budget into law.  As predicted, he did include his own additional cuts from various programs. The Governor also vetoed $50 million from the Department of Developmental Services, Regional Centers Purchase of Services, for services provided to eligible children up to age 5.
Westside Regional Center will be working closely with the DDS to inform the individuals and families that we serve, and our service providers, of how these new changes will be implemented. More details to follow.

The Trailer Bill has been approved by the Budget Conference Committee, the Big Five.  The Trailer Bill must be approved by the Senate and the Assembly and then sent to the Governor for his signature.  After the Governor signs the Bill, the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) will provide instructions and regulations to the regional centers.  WRC does not know how long this process will take.  We will continue to provide updates as information becomes available.
